What a compliment from the one who knows you best! Doing what’s right for the patient amid all the clamor! My 19 year old granddaughter was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma right out of the blue, and such a complex and difficult ride. Thank you for being one of the cancer care helpers to save a life

I can’t help but wonder if your husband wants more dogs (and maybe horses?) to absorb more of that venting… Sounds like a great guy, perceptive about the strong wills too!

You may be on to something, Elliott. Although I find the animals only listen as long as I have a treat in my hand. 😉

My husband and I both worked in hospital laboratories. He worked days at a quiet hospital and I worked 4-12 at a very busy hospital in an economically depressed area. We had 5 children and this worked well for our family. It was our routine to trade stories about the events of the day. My stories were always better! 🔬🤣🔬🦠

My friends who work in the ER always had the best stories when they worked second shift! And kudos to 5 kids! That is teamwork! 💪

This essay says more about the kind of doctor you are than any credential or award. Bravo! Should I ever need a CA doc, I hope it’s you.

This is the most perfect Valentine read for me. Thanks to your husband for putting up with an interview that sounds like a heartfelt morning conversation over a kitchen counter! So much fun and love 💕

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Oh and I appreciate you showing us the perspective of a doctor’s mind, those sleepless nights and pressured days. I sometimes think my life as a business owner is the most stressful thing in the world but reading about yours reminded me that all of us have our difficulties to deal with.

Thank you for your kind words. We work at it every day. The biggest challenge was learning to become a stepmother. We still laugh about the times when I would tell Todd that he was making a mistake with his children "according to this parenting book I'm reading." LOL.

That’s beautiful . Having cancer and not thinking I was that old (64) until I was being treated for said cancer ; I am embarrassed to say that I feel that because I am older it is easier to think well she can have this type of treatment because how much longer does one want to live then 10 years . Scary ! Survival of the fittest.

Great post - and I will note the double standard. No one questions a man who is married to a non-physician, but female doctors get that all the time. As if you can't have a career that might have as much or more prestige than a husband's?

A very fun interview, thanks to your special guest ;)

Haha! Thankfully, no. In my experience, medicine is more Scrubs than Grey's Anatomy!
