That's so fun! As a kid, I stood next to him in an elevator. All I remember is how big his hands were!

My eldest son’s comment was “ he’s so tall!” the first time he met him( he was 8). A dear friend of ours is really a dear friend of his and he always calls her on her birthday.

Haha! Only one championship but I take your point. Completely different player and a leader on and off the court. Do you read Kareem's Substack? His writing reminds me of my grandpa.

Bill Russell played 13 seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 15.1 points, 22.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He won 11 NBA championships, was a 12-time All-Star, and earned five MVP awards during his career.

and averaged 8.1 blocks

I have read Kareem's writing, really gifted. Especially about his friendship with Bill Walton.
