Another great post! In the midst of figuring this out as my younger sister has gone through treatment for triple negative bc at 39 (she's doing well, double masectomy + reconstruction), and I am now considered high risk for bc due to Lynch Syndrome, family history, and LCIS detected on a breast MRI at 42 (my first MRI, had 2 years of mammo/us screenings for dense breasts). All the screening led to biopsy and minor surgery. I had a hysterectomy from Lynch syndrome risk, so now have no hormones. But had to stop taking HRT due to bc risk, now on low dose tamoxifen and dealing with menopause. So. much. screening. So. many. factors. It's pretty hard to turn down more screening if there's a chance of cancer developing. I'm in a loop of constant worry about it, but hopeful that doing all this screening is worth catching something early. It's tough.

Oh man, Kendra. I hear you and living from screening to screening must be very difficult. Have you read Gila Pfeffer's memoir? There is a burden to "knowing" your cancer risk that we sometimes don't appreciate as a society and as clinicians. Reading about her experience opened my eyes.

Thank you for reading and listening.
