So the TRANSFORM trial is to determine how to find men at high risk for prostate cancer. I agree with you that we are over-diagnosing (and over treating most men) but we also aren’t finding aggressive prostate cancer particularly in young and black men. They are still dying and we need to do better as @chemofreak can attest.
And participants in the CONNECT trial do agree to share medical information. It’s the one way we can find out what may be a risk factor for cancer. No one is forced to sign up.
I note your skepticism but do not see any alternatives. What trial would you consider participating in?

I have participated as a guinea pig in research before, and I plan on continuing to do so.
