I noticed the impact when I had surgery on the 19th. They were super short on fluids; I was on the onc floor post op because my doc had many ca pts there. I’m wondering why there’s been such an increase in some types of colon cancers of late? Anyway, my perf is now closed, fistula taken down, and I’m recovering pretty nicely! Your article gives me great pause to our vulnerabilities.

Congratulations!

There is some interesting data about bacterial colonization and cancer of the aero digestive tract. Some hints that maybe all those antibiotics for ear infections led to a maladaptive response. Hard to pinpoint. I haven’t seen enough good data to write a post about it but it is concerning.

I was on macrodantin as a child d/t having a urinary ostomy at age 6; was marginally compliant for years but as someone who got Crohn’s at age 54 I wonder how much abx affected that occurring. I also had cdiff a year prior and had FMT in order to get rid of it. My body has definitely been thru the ringer! 🤣
