It does. And yet, I have been abundantly rewarded when I am brave enough to do it.

I have a hard time going to my tables and telling them I forgot to fire their next course. I cannot imagine the amount of anxiety you must have had leading up to that conversation with your patient. What a wonderful gift. Her response had me tearing up.

The sense of failure still catches my breath and almost prevented me from sharing this story. Her generosity allowed me to set a firm foundation of transparency early in my career. I am so grateful to her.
I'm always amazed at people like you, who literally bear so much responsibility. I can't understand how medical practitioners are not like, the best paid people in any job or field. It makes little sense. The level of pressure on a daily basis is insane, I would never manage to handle this.
I remember shooting some surgery documentary vids years ago. It really dawned on me during these days how incredible it is do spend 10 hours a day doing something where the slightest mistake can lead to a disaster.
I suppose when you direct, some decisions can lead to disasters, but thankfully not that bad. Although there are idiots who manage to kill some of their crew.
